Turn Your Worries Over, by Lifting Others

Turn Your Worries Over,

by Lifting Others

It’s good to have dreams, and in today's world, people have lost focus in life and spend far too much time listening to and worrying about things they have no control over.  Instead of honing in on how they can use their talents and gifts to lift others, earn a living, and find ways to live up to God’s standards, rather than society’s standards.  We will never live up to other people’s standards, for most people are not aligned with their own values or standards when they are focused on being right or judging others.

I read a great book years ago, by John Maxwell, and he said that each day, we should get up and think about, “Who can I help today?”  It may seem overwhelming to think about this each day, but helping someone doesn’t mean you have to give up an entire day. This can be a simple phone call or a simple gesture to brighten someone’s day.  When I get overwhelmed with worry, it means I am not relying on my faith, and this happens when we focus too much on ourselves and our problems. The moment we focus on someone else, we take our worry out of the equation.  I believe that when we focus on others, by letting go and letting God, this is when God works miracles in our lives.

If you don’t yet believe in God, that’s okay.  That doesn’t mean God doesn’t believe in you, so set your worries aside and focus on something amazing you can do for someone else. If you own a business, you could find a way to offer something that will help a customer in need.  You could smile bigger when a customer comes in, treat them special, like they matter, whether they buy your products and/or services, or not.  I can’t tell you how many businesses I have been in where no one offers a smile and/or the workers are engrossed in their phones, barely lifting their heads to me.

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, Faith looks up. -Ralph Waldo Emerson

What helps me is that when I find my focus shifting to my worries, I begin again reaching out to more people I can have on my show to lift and celebrate them, and when I do this, my creativity comes back, my worries lighten, and things begin to shift. My smile comes back, and the air is lighter around me.

Don’t think for one minute that having a dream is shameful or selfish. When you believe in God, then you know God wants you to flourish.  The key is to focus on trusting Him, turning your worries over to Him, and then taking time to lift someone up and make their day.  If you are only kind to people who think or believe as you do, then you are not living a Christ-like life.  Be the one in your circle to break the circle, through leading by example. I work with people from all walks of life, with different views, or no views at all. We don’t talk about views, because I like to make them smile or have fun. When I lift others, my own spirit is lifted.  It’s a wonderful world we live in.  I see the greatness in people, and I see the world as great. This is because I don’t stay glued to the news, so I have the energy for love and light, and to find new ways to expand my creative journey in Tamarah’s Closet.  Godspeed to those who want to love again. You don’t have to believe as I believe, for I just want to make you smile and laugh.

To your own success, rock it!
